Banana Crazy

Dienstag, 17.10.06

On my way home from college today, I stopped by the supermarket to get myself some bananas; something that I have been craving for since they were always out of stock last week. They were nowhere near ripe enough but a crunchy banana still tasted good.

Today, I had my first class. The theme for this class is ‘Design for Life’; looking to understand everyday human experience in depth where we will be introduced to two new design research methods. Apparently these methods will be making its debut as the tutor is visiting from University of West Sydney, Australia. However, today was spent introducing ourselves to the rest of the class, so it will be a few days until the projects gets underway.

Having a bike has proved to be very useful. I used it on Sunday to ride around the city as I needed to exert some energy after spending all morning and afternoon watching films. And so far, I have been using it to commute to college. It takes around 25 minutes to cycle the 4.5 km each way, a fairly brisk morning exercise. I leave wearing as many layers of clothing as I can, then get to college taking most of it off! It is a shame that once the winter weather really kicks in, I’d have to revert back to taking the bus and tram which then takes me around 40 minutes. But not long until the Christmas markets and festivities starting in November as well as the 5th season in Cologne’s calendar; Karneval starting on 11th November at 11:11am (sharp!).

My bike seat before in its half eaten state and after adding a few sponges!
